RIBA, on behalf of the Government of Tristan da Cunha, is currently holding a design ideas competition that would improve the island's homes and government buildings for a remote fishing/farming community of less than 300.
Henning Larsen Architects’ winning design for new Gothenburg high-rise
Henning Larsen Architects won an invite-only competition to design a new commercial/mixed-use Gothenburg high-rise for the evolving Swedish city of Gothenburg.
The winning Himalayan Mountain Hut designs
For the Himalayan Mountain Hut competition, HMMD Architecture Competitions teamed up with Samarth Nepal Market Development Programme to create plans for a safe and comfortable shelter for mountain trekkers visiting Nepal's Himalayan region. A total of 66 finalists are still in the running for the 2015 AZ Awards. The annual awards from leading Canadian contemporary design magazine AZURE gives designers, architects, firms, manufacturers, and students from all disciplines to send in their best work for a chance to win. Henry Cobb receives 2015 Architectural League of NY President’s Medal
The Architectural League of New York recently bestowed their 2015 President's Medal -- the League's highest honor -- to Henry N. Cobb, a founding partner of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. Previous recipients include Richard Serra, Renzo Piano, Massimo and Lella Vignell, Kenneth Frampton, Billie Tsien and Tod Williams, and Robert A.M. Stern.
79 shortlisters announced for 2015 NSW Architecture Awards in Australia
Organized by the Australian Institute of Architects, the annual awards program recognizes and promotes architectural design excellence in the New South Wales region of Australia.
