Boeri Studio wins International Highrise Award 2014, over OMA, Jean Nouvel, and Steven Holl
The biennial International Highrise Award went to Boeri Studio's Vertical Forest in Milan. The competition began with 800 highrises all the way down to a shortlist of five finalists, which included OMA, Ateliers Jean Nouvel, and Steven Holl Architects.
Reanimate the Ruins winners reimagine Detroit’s Packard Motor Plant
Participants worldwide were challenged to propose ideas for a new adaptive urban center on the site of the iconic Packard Motor Plant. The Reanimate the Ruins! competition calls attention to the grim industrial and economic realities of Detroit, Michigan in recent years. Results of [AC-CA]‘s MILAN World Expo info pavilion competition
[AC-CA]'s [MILAN] World Expo Pavilion competition invited the international architecture and design community to submit their own ideas for an Information Pavilion located inside the World Expo Park of the 2015 Milan World Expo starting next May. Above, architects Klaudiusz Angerman, Monika Nowak, Michal Krywult, Anna Karas from Polan won 1st place for their entry "Golden Harvest".
Winners of Warming Huts v.2015
Playful narratives won the jury over in Winnipeg's popular Warming Huts competition for 2015. The top three winning designs will be constructed at the Red River Mutual Rivertrail. Above is "This Big", a Shelter category winner, by Tina Soli & Luca Roncoroni from Dorebak Akershus, Norway.
