Benoy to design Greenland GIC in Chengdu city center
The London and Shanghai offices of international firm Benoy had the winning proposal to be the masterplanner and architect for Greenland GIC, a new mixed-use development in the heart of Chengdu, China.
Winning ideas for the MADRID Digital Arts Museum competition
In the MADRID Digital Arts Museum ideas competition, participants submitted their most creative ideas for a Digital Arts Museum located in the Lavapiés neighborhood in Madrid. The single-stage competition had entrants examine digital technology and its multi-faceted relationship with the contemporary museum. Plastic Stereotomy wins TEX-FAB’s Plasticity competition
Out of four finalists, "Plastic Stereotomy" by Justin Diles, an assistant professor at The Knowlton School of Architecture, won TEX-FAB's latest competition on digital fabrication and parametric design — a subject that always brews interesting discussion in the A + D community.
A first-prize tie in the 2014 ONE Prize “Smart Dock” results
Interestingly enough, the ONE Prize "Smart Dock" competition has two 1st prize winners for 2014. Organized by Terreform ONE, this year's theme had participants propose a new design and science educational facility for the renovated Building 128 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
‘Choral Fields 1-6’ of MIRRORCITY in London ponders the urban city’s rhythmic flow
Over at London's Hayward Gallery, the MIRRORCITY exhibition features the multimedia works of London-based emerging and established artists that address the dilemmas, consequences, and experiences of living in the digital revolution. One of these artists is Emma McNally, whose Choral Fields (1-6) drawings are currently in the exhibition.
tyrrellstudio’s winning “Street 14” urban design entry in Melbourne
Out of 53 submissions, tyrrellstudio from Sydney, Australia had the winning proposal to design a new commercial center in Melbourne's Moorabbin Junction, along with a cash award of $20,000.
