Fujiwara Yoshi is an 800 square meter maze designed to get lost in the grandeur of Japanese culture without even trying to find a way out.

MAKHNO studio implemented the design of the project of the largest Japanese restaurant in Ukraine and one of the largest in Europe - Fujiwara Yoshi. It is named after the founder, a Japanese chef who continued his professional activities in Ukraine. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a residential complex in the center of Kyiv and occupies 800 square meters.

Careful planning successfully emphasizes the harmony of space: there are 5 private rooms, a banquet and main hall, a room for business negotiations and a terrace. Private ones include tea rooms with straw tatami mats, rooms with scrolls and bell lamps. They are ideal for large friendly gatherings over sake, and for quiet family dinners over matcha tea.

Working areas are hidden between the ikebans: a tempura bar - a battered and fried food preparation area, a robata grill - a traditional Japanese grill, a large table for processing tuna, a bar and a hidden main kitchen. The restaurant also has a sushi bar - a special counter where the chef prepares food in front of the guests and puts the finished dish right on their plate.

"Most Japanese restaurants are intimate, small and definitely cozy. That's why we paid a lot of attention to the planning, according to which, at the customer's request, up to 250 visitors can be accommodated at the same time. And yet, the atmosphere of coziness and pacification remains here," says Ilya Tovstonog, chief architect of MAKHNO Studio.

The architects are sure that a Japanese restaurant can only be created by a Japanese in Japan, Yoshi Fujiwara is age-old Japanese traditions with a Ukrainian soul. Two cultures are harmoniously combined here, creating a unique atmosphere.
