well, i was mentally just stabbing in the dark. i thought it was either something from richard leplastrier or some japanese architect that i didnt know.
your hint still leaves me in the dark...
I thought it was an adaptation of an old Mill building, converted into a small dwelling and sauna, but it might be a new build - see here: Wingardhs Architektkontor
okay, it is not LA, but from a city often compared to it. if my memory serves me correctly i believe Banham even called it the next LA.
southern hemisphere.
ps: I'd be very surprised if anyone got this... this is the only image I could find of this particular building on the web, and even then I had to alter it to remove clues...
Name that Architect and Building!!!
Nice find. Thought that building was a house, but it is a Gallery. Another one, or defer?

if someone has one ready to go...be my guest.
Sorry about the double post - Safari problems.
By the way, due to this thread, my already considerable collection of architects websites has ballooned to approximately 430.
This thread has been the best thing on this forum for a long time now.
....and still no red dot
i think cos only 9 or 10 of us regularly respond, unfortunately.
Well after 13 pages, we could almost do a 'best of' of this thread.
OK, I'll go
One of my favourite buildings
No idea. German? Might I have seen in Detail?
i'm stumped as well nice shadow lines (schattenfugen?!?) where the roof/floor and wall collide
That little sliver view is brilliant. Wouldn't meet code in NZ, but.
Okay, 2 clues
1. Its an adaptive re-use
2. Its Scandinavian

Okay, 2 more
1. It's Swedish
2. The architect has offices in Gotenburg and Stockholm
oh oh...with a bit of work i got it
mill house by Wingardh
Well done. It is a beautifully designed little building. The interior is exquisite.
What is it adaptive reuse of? a cottage of some kind? or am I only seeing part of the picture?

damn p2.. don't know this one either but you're choosing some really nice/interesting projects.
kinda looks like it's US - south
Yeah,
I have seen this - I am thinking L.A, maybe Culver City...
hehe...i'm going to bed now, i'll see if anyone has it tomorrow morning.
I've searched and can't find it. Feels like LA to me, too.
p2an any hints before this thread disappears from the main page?

southern hemisphere.
I think that's a fire house/station in Chile? or was it Argentina - I remember seeing it via one of those Spanish/Portugeuse archi-blogs
techno, the funny thing is once you had on your blog, another project by the office that did it...
It reminds me a bit of Moarqs...
its a house for an artist, and techno -different contienent.
hmm, Maybe it is in Perth. Geographically [from my perspective], it is similar to LA, or perhaps Sydney...
it is in perth, from my former office.
i was there for a year and worked most of the time on this project.
any sandgropers out there should get this in a flash!
OK,
Donaldson + Warn
Leederville Residence
Perth
I can't believe I didnt get this one... but then again, Perth and LA share some similiarities that obviously got mixed up in my head...
I will pass this on to all comers, but if an hour goes by, I will step in.
oops!
yes! good ol d+w!
jeff warn is often quoted as doing LA type work, and it is very true that perth and LA have alot in common.
renzo piano, Auditorium Parco della Musica roma
Jebus, that was quick!
I will do another and try and stump you...
yeah, do that because i havent got one ready to go.
ps: I'd be very surprised if anyone got this... this is the only image I could find of this particular building on the web, and even then I had to alter it to remove clues...
The glazing bars and circular opening look Scarpish, but I don't think it is.
stumped
not by that firm who've done some 'fractal' stuff in melbourne by chance?
steven,
you mean lab architecture's federation square?
voronoi zentrale
Looks a bit like a McDonald's playhouse - done by RM Schindler.
