Anyone have any experience or recommendations about negotiating with school about their financial offers. I have an offer for the 1st year but it will be re-evaluated after that. However, I have a full to year offer from another school. Could I use this as leverage?

Exactly one year ago i was that conveyor belt leftover, waiting and waiting to no avail. It turned out my bag had not made it from mexico to california, it was in arizona. Perhaps that is where my acceptance packages are! If anyone sees them, please let me know.

in other news, i was--mercifully--in the first wave of e-mails from ucla and berkeley. sure was nice to get them before reading about others in this forum!

I am in the M's. I was told that I was in the top applicant group and called first. I dont know that they will call everyone or if they do, when.
I believe the process has just started.......don't give up.

Penn acceptance envelopes have reached post offices in boston. (i've got a PO box, i imagine it may take another day if it has to be delivered somewhere)

so, i'm not alone in my snub by toshiko. i, too, wonder if they even received my application.

i would check my mail at lunch too, but why set myself up?

also, why am i not surprised that sci-arc hasn't notified yet?

I think some schools do weed out the applicants. Like the e-ject from Princeton came from the Dean of the Graduate School, not from anyone in the School of Architecture. I can't help but think that my application didn't make it through the first phase there, it was e-jected before it ever had a chance.

Oh good lord - that better not have been a joke about MIT. Can one have a heart attack at 26? I think I may have just experienced one . . .

UCLA is driving me crazy! Luckily I have one acceptance and am not worrying too much about them, but honestly was Jim Kies just lying to me over the phone or what.... that shit pisses me off

I think i'm going with a new strategy of coming up with a "Plan B" that is so incredibly awesome that if i DO get in it will be almost disappointing, that I don't get to go through with "Plan B".

Kaal, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but with 3/3 acceptances to phenomenal schools so far, perhaps its time to calm down? There are plenty of us staring at a pile of rejections.

also in the nicest way possible....how in the world would any of us know how long mail takes to get to bangladesh?

leaning towards penn?

I'm still waiting on Cal and Columbia. At this point I'm convinced no news is bad news. The whole optimism thing hasn't worked for me so far, I'm thinking pessimism is the way to go.

march06 i think i'm leaning towards UW. i'm really attracted to their environmental and social responsibility bent. and the work that comes out of upenn looks like diagrams to me, not architecture. i'm not convinced that's what i want to come out of grad school with...the whole digital thing is just not my style. i'm more of a hands on kinda person.

i sent away for penn's application 3 years ago, or maybe 4....im not sure if its the same now, but i was personally put off by their request to put your portfolio in a particular binder, i mean they gave the model number and everything....i digress.
