I'd like some recommendations for some good Electronic Music...along the lines of Crystal Method...Groove Armada....Chemical Brothers.
Thanks in Advance!
pps the fact that j listens to garth brooks and paul oakenfold is mildly troubling if not wholly insulting to good music in general.

With occasional flashbacks to ancient goodlies like Portishead, Pixies, Wu, Bjork, RATM, Radiohead,
when was the last time third eye came out with anything decent? I gave up after "ghost". and i am suspicious of boards new direction .... geogaddi is gathering lots of dust on my shelf. but i second your fourtet and broken social scene .. that seventeen year old girl song gives me the chills.
Dj Illusion and Terra's weekly Drum 'n Bass sets from the UK. And some Morrissey, 2 live crew "is what they are", Tribe Called Quest... thrown in there too.
Michael Manring (one word: thonk)
Marcus Miller (check out the Ozell Tapes - Live)
Jean-Luc Ponty
Pat Metheney Group
Jaco Pastorius (he's dead now but listen to his self-titled debut album)
Christian McBride
I've listened to Madvillany, and its good, but I personally prefer Operation: Doomsday over it. Comes off to my ear as being a little more light-hearted and a bit smoother in most parts. But then again, I've never claimed to be much of a hip-hop conesiour (which I'm sure is spelled completely wrong). Here's some of my latest.
Johnny Cash
At the Gates
Coheed and Cambria
Deltron Zero/Del the Funky Homosapien
DJ Abilities
Jurassic 5
Motorhead
Slayer
Stan Getz
Sunny Day Real Estate
Melt Banana
On another note, has anyone heard the new Morrisey CD yet? Waiting to hear some reviews before I hunt it down.
re: ya, er, Third Eye, maybe will get better or maybe dead somewhere in a ditch wrapped in plastic and duct tape, lord knows.. But I have high hopes for the Hexigon Sun boys, they like to tease and torture us with thier secret little games. We shall see by the end of the year? I hope?
Also.

Canadian rock! (not bryan adams ... but unicorns, stills, broken social, ninja tune, gsybe, do make say think, fly pan am ....)
with a cold molson it is just dandy.
the new album by the streets "a grand don't come for free" is worth to check out: english working class "odyssey" with strong cockney accent and fresh home-made beats.

been particularly enjoying chris clark's 'empty the bones of you'. the more i listen to it, the more i find gems i didn't notice before. he has a really interesting, almost tactile sensibility to 'sculpting' sound.
nice video by the collective 'lynn fox' too. i think they were bartlett alums.

Madvillainy by MF DOOM and Madlib. In my opinion one of the best albums ever of any genre. Anyone that likes hip-hop needs to know about it.
