I listen almost exclusively to albums. The list I posted came from a group of mix CD's I made for my brother.
I realize that most of the dance rock songs have been out for about a year, but bands like the killers are just now getting radio and video play (even though their single is much older).
Some of the indie rock bands are new, most are well established. Though all are admittadly from this generation.
I have stick by the prog rock label though. These bands don't sound like the String Cheese Incident, Pink Floyd, etc. They are some of teh most experimental and progressive bands around today. Prog is short for progressive after all.
how about those bands you listened to in junior high or high school. the ones that a friend found out about from a friend's friend's older sibling. the ones you loved for about a year, then start to collect dust but after 10 years bring back all kinds of memories.
heard Big L's "Harlems Finest, A Freestyle History"?
this guy's a genious. i have it along with about 300 other albums in my ipod, and i can't help but listen to it over and over. not your run of the mill white architect hey lets put this on the loud speakers type of music though, but it gets me through the day!

I saw Interpol at the Curiosa festival with Mogwai & the Cure, & wasn't impressed. It was a strange outdoor venue, really big, & still light out so that could've been a factor. They're headlining now so i'm curious to see both these bands in a much more intimate venue in a couple weeks.
yeah, outdoor festivals are usually weird and sort of mcdonald's-y feeling to me.
i have heard nothing but amazing things about blonde redhead's live performance, and even though i am not a crazed interpol hipster i am hoping that they put on a decent show as well.
when are you seeing them?
I'm seeing them February 9th. I like them, but it's really annoying that they've become a "trendy-of-sorts" lately. I prefer their earlier, grittier stuff anyways.
I discovered Blonde Redhead on KCRW's Morning's eclectic & really enjoyed their set.
you will have to tell me how it is, as i am seeing that show on the 10th!
i was pretty suprised to see that they were touring with interpol. they are only going to get "trendier" from here on out. i dont nessecarily think that is a bad thing though. it's not like they are going to be on mcdonald's commercials or anything.
i like the newer blonde redhead album, it's pretty...
but in an expression... is my favorite of theirs.

I do apologize for the lame headings, they were meant to be tongue-in-cheek. I am frequently reminded by my peers that I am not funny.
