17 Jane is a 31,000 SF 6-story, 7 unit luxury mid-rise residential building proposed to be located 11 Jane Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village historic district (cross streets between: 8th Avenue & Greenwich Ave). This project is in collaboration with London-based designer David Chipperfield Architects for the client Edward J. Minskoff. The first two stories consist of two duplex maisonettes, followed by (4) apartment units from the 3rd floor and up and a duplex penthouse on the 5th and 6th floors. A portion of the proposed cellar was maintained the existing garage use and 327-SF accommodates 12-space parking spaces.
The townhouses have front entrances with bronze gates and rear private gardens. Additionally, the building's amenities include a bike room, fitness center, and roof deck. This project was considered an alternation (ALT-1) and addition hence it went through the Landmark’s Preservation Commission for approval. I was involved in this project, as Director of CA / Project Architect at the middle of the CDs thru the end of of construction of the building and the ((2) Townhouses along with DOB, NYFD, DOT & DOF sub & re-submissions.
