Bolton Global Capital

Local Flavor with Strong Brand Identity

Bolton Global Capital, a wealth management company, is fittingly located in the financial district of Brickell inside the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel building. The client expressed a desire to create a branded environment that emulates their historic headquarters in Bolton, Massachusetts while also drawing upon the rich surrounding culture. They also wanted to promote an office culture that emphasizes community and transparency. Bearing these requirements in mind, MKDA crafted a sophisticated workplace experience with a distinct Miami flair to match the city’s vibrant energy.

In order to emphasize Bolton’s brand identity, the team created a custom grid in the elevator lobby and reception area, with alternating diagonal lines and mixed metal finishes, resembling their logo. The diagonal white element of the grid continues onto the ceiling with linear LED lighting, giving the impression that it has exploded onto the ceiling. The angled lines are also featured in the bush-hammered marble reception desk, brass and marble elevator lobby walls and angled entry portal. Furthermore, inspired by elements from the firm’s headquarters, the team mirrored the original hardwood floors and antiquated chandeliers through installing a wood-looking tile in a herringbone pattern and modern, mixed metal chandeliers.

Communal, Miami Influences

MKDA paid special attention to infusing the space with a number of local, cultural elements. Given Miami’s deep Hispanic roots and the value placed on family and large gatherings, we designed a large pantry area that functions as the heart of the space. Here, the staff can gather for their "cafecito time," a beloved local tradition when individuals take a 3 PM coffee break and socialize with peers. In addition, we included a slatted ceiling, custom palm frond wallcovering, Havana-style tile and mismatched spindle back chairs to resemble authentic Cuban cafes and  to provide the space with casual, sea-side vibes.

MKDA furthered this distinctly Miami theme through bringing the outdoors inside. The team used ombre back painted glass with orange hues in the pantry and collaborative conference rooms to echo the colorful Miami sunset while expansive windows frame the breathtaking surrounding views. All-glass office fronts and sliding glass conference room doors establish a strong communal environment, allowing personnel to feel both comfortable and connected throughout the space.
