Clemson University School of Architecture celebrated its centennial in 2013. Today, the School seeks to meet 21st century challenges through pedagogical and technological advances, and to provide design leadership for an expanding global environment. With all graduate studios located in the LEED Gold, AIA Award-winning Lee III studio, and full-time, semester-long off-campus study options for one or two semesters in Charleston, SC, Barcelona, and Genoa, and a summer studio in NYC, the School's "Fluid Campus" offers a uniquely rich global education.
The School is part of the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities—along with the departments of Planning, Development, and Preservation, Landscape Architecture, Art, Performing Arts, Construction Science, Philosophy and Religion, Languages, English, Communication Studies, and History.
The School of Architecture offers a four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Architecture degree with an enrollment of approximately 270 students, and a Master of Architecture (M. Arch.) degree with over 100 students. The Master of Science (MS) in Architecture is offered as post-professional research degree, as is the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities' Ph.D. in Planning, Design and the Built Environment (PDBE).
The Master of Architecture program has a Three-Year, first professional degree track (M.Arch.I) for students without a pre-professional background in architecture and a Two-Year track (M.Arch.II) for students with a pre-professional undergraduate degree in architecture. A specialized M. Arch. concentration (Two-Year and Three-Year tracks) in Architecture and Health is the centerpiece of an acclaimed Architecture + Health program.
Two new concentration areas include Architecture + CommunityBUILD, a branch of Clemson's Community Research and Design Center, and a certificate program in Design Ecologies.
Faculty research strengths include architecture and health, architectural history and theory, architectural robotics, building performance, digital design and manufacturing, design/build, and sustainable design. Students and professors regularly receive national recognition, including numerous NCARB awards, competition prizes, and top 20 rankings by Design Intelligence Magazine.
Clemson is a top 25 public university located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in the growing Piedmont Atlantic region between Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina.
