Archetype Group, Yangon, MM, Architectural Design Manager

Tapping into newly-opened Myanmar, I joined Archetype Group’s Yangon office in July 2013. My role in this French-owned, Vietnam-based firm encompasses not only leading a design team but managing clients, budgets, schedules, and contracts. I acted as design manager for what will be the tallest building in the country upon completion and helped win a contract to act as Executive Architect for the Landmark Yangon project, a 500,000m2 mixed-use project designed by Cecil Balmond which will house the first Peninsula Hotel and residences in Yangon.

Jul 2013 - Jul 2015

UK H&D Design, Shanghai, CN, Senior Architectural Designer

I joined H&D for the opportunity to take on more responsibility in the design process and to take the PM role on a number of projects. I currently serve as the primary designer for large-scale commercial, residential, and hospitality projects throughout mainland China. Successfully met the needs of numerous government entities in designing a campus for local government headquarters in Lixian, Hunan. On the Huachuang Tower project I took over from an outgoing PM and won back the clients’ business with a new concept for an office and Sofitel Hotel branded complex with a commercial development at its base.

Nov 2011 - Jul 2013

DLR Group/WWCOT, Shanghai, CN, Architectural Designer

While at DLR I combined techniques for sustainable construction through energy-usage and environmental analysis with parametric design skills to deliver high quality projects to clients throughout mainland China. Implemented the use of Revit for the first time in the branch’s history while designing a house on Chongming Island.

Worked on design development, construction documents, and site inspection for luxury hospitality projects for clients such as the Ritz-Carlton Group. I learned to meet the needs of highly demanding clients and collaborators while working with Robert AM Stern Architects on the Mansion on Peachtree, a luxury hotel and residential tower now under the Mandarin Oriental umbrella. At MPA I also gained experience in high-end preservation and refurbishment while working on the Cloister at Sea Island, a historic resort which hosted the 2004 G-8 Summit.
