Cabbagetown North Heritage Conservation District Plan

[City of Toronto, Heritage Preservation Services   2003]

In 2004, the City of Toronto approved a plan to expand the Cabbagetown Heritage Conservation District to include a large area to the north of the existing district. This was an important move to ensure the protection of the historic character of this neighborhood, one of Toronto’s most beloved districts and tourist attractions. The Victorian-era Cabbagetown is characterized by humble, but decorative brick and frame homes with small front yards which often served as gardens. While working for the City of Toronto’s Heritage Preservation Services, I assisted with historic assessment and documentation, research, writing and editing.
