2001, Originally called The Boulder Women's Hospital, the project was for expansion of existing Boulder Community Hospital facilities and ultimate relocation of them in a comprehensive medical campus on a new site. After an alternative sites feasibility study, this somewhat marginal, flood-prone site was selected and rendered suitable by generally raising its grade. Computer visualization was used from early in the project to study the visual environment and to guide the design process for the building and site that was to go in it.
