Immersive Experiences Through Honored Design

In the most exclusive oasis, the St. Regis Hotel Bermuda will provide an atmosphere for transformational experiences through five-star luxury accommodations within an UNESCO World Heritage Site. OBMI was chosen to create a master plan and architectural design for St. Regis Hotel Bermuda that would convey Bermuda’s style of elegant living while preserving the site’s historical elements. To capture the essence of the site, OBMI designed the 122-rooms and 90 condominiums as a gentle arch spanning the beautiful beach at Achilles Bay, sitting between Fort St. Catherine and Fort Albert.

The St. Regis Hotel design reflects Bermuda’s unique architectural style while adding contemporary elements that further deepen the luxury experience. This inspiration is evident in the signature Bermudian white roofs and seafoam green painted shutters painted to pay homage to the island’s style. The property with its curving, multi-leveled rooflines will proudly boast colors spotted all around the island. The Fort’s presence is itself reinforced in the design through the use of punctuated geometric lines repeated throughout the pool and beach areas with a softened through curvy symmetry of green spaces flowing from the golf course.

The St. Regis Hotel Bermuda is designed in a manner that was sensitive and responsive to the guest experience within its cultural context. OBMI created opportunities for transformational experiences throughout the property by highlighting and incorporating the historical elements into the design. Revitalizing the abandoned Fort Albert to provide a world-class Spa, OBMI architects capitalized on the beauty of the fort and its view by designing spa treatment rooms to be tucked into the former cannon wells. The hotel continues to delight the senses with luxury accommodations, including beautifully appointed rooms, all with private balconies overlooking the St Catherine’s beach, a Robert Trent Jones designed 18-hole golf course, a signature St. Regis Bar and Wine Vault, and a 24-hour casino; among other facilities.
