One of the Five Best Arrivals
The arrival experience of the Carlisle Bay Resort has been voted one of the five best hotel entrances in the world. The entrance, designed by OBMI, enchants guests through a deliberate crossing over a lily pond lined with flaming torches, setting the scene for what has become one of the most talked about resorts in the Caribbean—the epitome of paradise. The resort’s architecture marries classic Caribbean design with chic contemporary embellishments to create simple, discreet luxury.
Carlisle Bay Resort is situated on the south coast of Antigua, set on a breathtaking beach with a backdrop of lush hills covered in rainforest. Acknowledging the beauty of the natural setting, we created rooms that would blur established boundaries between interior and exterior space. By drawing guests outdoors and immersing them in nature, we set the stage for life-changing moments.
The resort is comprised of 82 contemporary suites, all boasting ocean views. Designed to accommodate both families and couples the site’s master plan arranged the various accommodations to offer appropriate amenities for all travellers. Throughout all villas a a relaxed contemporary design was maintained throughout and he architecture is in the Caribbean vernacular. Plantation shutters painted a cool grey to contrast against the site’s vibrant palm trees, lawns and forest, maker their hues an even deeper shade of green. By day, every room is filled with sunshine from sea-facing, floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto private terraces.
