Elegance in Rugged Surroundings
Located in San Bartolome de Tirajana, next to the Puerto Deportivo, the project site features a sloped terrain with a rugged coastline overlooking the majestic sea. OBMI’s architectural concept for the Pasito Blanco Resort reinterprets the Mediterranean vernacular architecture in a contemporary interpretation, by combining white volumes with abstract graphic patterns and application of local “Aruca” and “Ayaguara” stones. The Resort design provides a central open space that opens views to the sea; at the same time, the massing is broken into a series of terraced structures with green roofs that blend the buildings into the natural landscape.
The hotel will be a five-star, 160-room world-class property with extraordinary bars and restaurants, and a rooftop lounge. The structures gracefully flow down the gentle slope creating a succession of open spaces, punctuated a succession of three pools and terraces overlooking the blue ocean beyond. The full-service spa, at the bottom, is hemmed in by the rugged coastline, offering spectacular views over the water.
The primary goal for Pasito Blanco is to create a stately and majestic visual impact by allowing the structure to cascade down a hillside and gradually descend to the rocky cliffs at the coastline. OBMI will establish an architectural character that reflects the area’s heritage by following traditional lines, taking advantage of local building materials and utilising native landscaping.
