The John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto shares their upcoming Winter 2021 lecture series. Through the months of January through March, the school invites speakers who will address "the urgency of our contemporary challenges, and the opportunities of our diverse programs — architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, visual studies, and forestry."

This season, the department shares "a series of thematic discussions titled Resolutions and Agencies, continues our exploration of design’s capacity to respond to activism, resilience, decolonization, density, narrative, and justice, among other topics. Lectures provide an in-depth view on a topic by one speaker, while talks allow for thematic discussion with a diverse group of featured speakers."
The Resolutions and Agencies talk consists of a series of talks from Douglas Cardinal in a 4-part series of conversations with various guests such as Arthur Dyson and Daniels students. On March 4th a presentation titled Hearing Stories: Narrative Audio in Isolation will feature guests such as Jana Winderen and Kaitlin Prest. Mach 11th will feature a discussion with Ana María León, Andrew Herscher, K. Wayne Yang, and Eladia Smoke in their lecture presentation Unsettled Lands: Architecture, History, Pedagogy. The Graphic Content: Drawing as Method Symposium. The Symposium will run from March 26th thru 27th and feature speakers Nishat Awan, Luke Caspar Pearson + Sandra Youkhana of You+Pea, Cyan Cheng, Charlotte Malterre-Barthes, Deane Simpson of KADK, Ghazal Jafari, and Nerea Calvillo.
Additional lectures include presentations from Filipe Magalhães, Ana Luisa Soares, & Ahmed Belkhodja of Fala Atelier, Matthew Hickey of Two Row Architect, Irenosen Okojie, Marina Tabassum of Marian Tabassum Architects, Alfred Waugh of Formline Architecture, and Walter Hood of Hood Design Studio. A series of alumni speakers will take place during the Winter lecture series for the schools "What's Next: Alumni Speaker Series"
