At the university, the Hyde Lecture "is a long-standing endowed program within UNL’s College of Architecture [...] To confront it, the 20-21 Hyde Lecture Series brings lecturers who believe that design and planning should be explicitly engaged with fostering a just society. Doing so is an act of hope requiring, not only, an awareness of true inequity, but also a compulsion to refute it in its many forms."
During their 2021 Hyde Lecture Series and continuing from their Fall series the school has planned 2 lunch and learns followed by 2 Hyde Lectures for the months of February and March. On February 12 they welcome Teddy Cruz and Fonna Forman of Estudio Teddy Cruz + Fonna Forman with a Lunch and Learn on February 11th.
In March the university welcomes Kia Weatherspoon on March 5th and she will be hosting a Lunch and Learn on March 4th. Weatherspoon is the founder and director of Determined by Design.
