Kanye West, who almost a year ago, was forced to demolish his housing project in Calabasas for lack of permitting and failure to comply with building codes, unveiled July 5th on Twitter what appears to be a new stab at the endeavor. "YZY SHLTRS in process #2020VISION" the post reads. The accompanying photo appears to contain three structures, each at a different stage of development. One can see some shoring happening on the structure closest to the camera, and off at the top right of the frame looks to be a structure whose structural form has already taken on a dome like aesthetic.
This news follows the musician's recent announcement on Twitter that he will be running for president of the United States. This was the first time we were introduced to the #2020VISION hashtag from the artist, something that many are attributing as a title for West's campaign for president. However, many are doubtful that West will actually run for office. In any case, we will all be waiting to see more progress of this second attempt at the YZY SHLTRs.

Cool vanity project, dude.
.
Headline should read, "Breaking: Kanye not getting enough attention."
I don't care about his interest in architecture. This is who he is.
"A company belonging to Kanye West received millions in loans from a federal coronavirus stimulus package, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest given the rapper’s ties to the Trump administration."
Ok, so suspicions confirmed based on my previous comment on an earlier thread... definitely looking like these are indeed going to be bad ripoffs of Wallace Neff, although missing the airform?
In a twisted and weird way I can't think of a better construction methodology for Kanye to be working with... a celebrity with a guilty conscious attempting to make housing for the masses is not far off from where Neff was originally coming from when he first developed the technology in the 1940's...
With his massive ability to leverage cutting and sewing from his fashion line, Kanye could in fact do a really amazing job at creating dope ass airforms that don't look like homes for teletubbies, hobbits, or like everyone's first experiment with metaballs. Fingers crossed.
like... you're kinda on to something there guy... now if it you weren't a completely insane megalomaniac I would maybe be more excited about the prospect of airform concrete being revitalized as a construction method but too bad the guy doesn't know where reality begins and ends...
If the rumors are true that he's working with Francis Kere, then hey, I'm still willing to see where this goes but I'm skeptical that this will go anywhere and that we'll see a neighborhood of Yeezy homes anytime soon
Oh, and peep the teepee in the back. I hope that's not one of his neighbors in Wyoming.... :)
