RIBA International Prize awarded to Grafton Architects' UTEC “vertical campus” in Lima
The Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC) by Grafton Architects and Shell Arquitectos won the very first RIBA International Prize. Open to architects worldwide, the Prize is RIBA's own recognition award for “civil architecture that empowers people and societies to innovate and to progress”.

Out of 20 shortlisted photos, Matt Emmett was awarded as the 2016 Arcaid Images Architectural Photographer of the Year. The jury was drawn to Emmett's satisfyingly symmetric photo of the East London Water Works Company's 1868 covered reservoir in Finsbury Park, London.

UNStudio + Heerim to design new 32-tower residential masterplan in Seoul
UNStudio and Korean architecture firm Heerim won first place to design a 32-tower residential masterplan in the Daechi-Dong area of Seoul. The development comprises of new 50-story residential towers as well as educational centers, libraries, athletic facilities, and six “themed” gardens.
