Martino Stierli took over as MoMA's chief curator of architecture and design in 2015, when the museum was already undergoing major changes. Diller Scofidio + Renfro's redesign was underway, and the architecture and design galleries faced something of an uncertain future in the expanded museum layout. On the podcast, Stierli dispels the rumors that the galleries would be closed permanently, and discusses MoMA's strategies for exhibiting architecture, as well as his plans to diversify the museum's collection.

Im always hopeful in a new push that Stierli could bring, but nothing he is saying is particularly interesting or doesn't sound half-hearted corporate speak. Generally zzzzzzz. Amelia seems more up on arch curation than he... where's Philip Johnson or Barry Bergdoll when you need them?
It sounds eerily similar to the NYTimes and Kimmelman, who talk talk talk about diversity, housing issues, and politics but have no thoughts as to what is needed to make architecture relevant to the public (as it once was). Or how to use technology but in a critical way that the PR-run blogs like Arch Paper or Curbed don't have the stomach for. Mostly seems like excuses for a general absense to me...
Bergdoll had a lot of great exhibitions on his watch, was a good run... doesn't sound very promising when the chief curator is making the rounds to placate the arch community, thought at least it shows a level of care that someone like Kimmelman lacks.
