Napur Architect to design Budapest's new Museum of Ethnography in competition reboot
Deemed as one of Europe's largest museum projects, the ambitious Liget Budapest Project is gradually piecing itself together, now that the architects for the multi-structure project have been selected. Most recently, Hungarian practice Napur Architect is the new winning designer of the Museum of Ethnography, while Sauerbruch Hutton and BIG won second and third place, respectively.
RAIC announces the 2016 Governor General's Medalists
Canadian architecture firms who recently completed a project have a chance to compete in the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada's and Canada Council for the Arts' notable Governor General's Medals in Architecture. The twelve winning projects have just been revealed, including stunning libraries, healthcare facilities, and residential homes.
The Design Museum introduces the four 2016 Designers in Residence
Four lucky young creatives were recently invited to partake in the Design Museum's 2016 Designers in Residence program. Now in its ninth cycle, the program spotlights emerging early-career designers and gives them an opportunity to further develop their ideas, as well as engage with established practitioners, industry experts, alumni, and Design Museum departments.
Anna Puigjaner of MAIO Studios wins 2016 Wheelwright Prize
The coveted 2016 Wheelwright Prize went to Anna Puigjaner, cofounder of Barcelona-based MAIO Studios, as announced by the Harvard Graduate School of Design. First established by the school in 1935, the prestigious $100,000 travel architectural research grant is awarded to one lucky early-career architect.
2016 Turner Prize shortlisted artists revealed
Regarded as one of the most prestigious visual art awards, the Turner Prize recognizes a British artist under the age of 50 for outstanding exhibition or other form of presentation of their work in the preceding year. The 2016 cycle is already down to its final four shortlisted artists.

A Zaha Hadid retrospective will open in Venice on May 27
In memory of the late Zaha Hadid, the Fondazione Berengo cultural institution is paying tribute to the iconic architect with a retrospective exhibition of her work at the 16th-century Palazzo Franchetti, along the Grand Canal in Venice. The retrospective will officially open on May 27, right before the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale will celebrate its own inauguration.
