Not content to merely redefine skyscrapers, football stadiums, and the agency of the architect, Bjarke Ingels Group is now leaping into the realm of transportation, joining up with Hyperloop to "transform the future of public infrastructure."
Bjarke explained it thusly: "Traditionally, the work of an architect is to design buildings for the same known program - a residence or a workplace - and try to squeeze in a marginal improvement here or an elegant design solution there. With Hyperloop we are not only designing a futuristic station or a very fast train - we are dealing with an entirely novel technology with the potential to completely transform how our existing cities will grow and evolve - and how new cities will be conceived and constructed."
For its part, AECOM will focus on improving the freight end of the transportation system, focusing its highly trained teams on the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. "AECOMs partnership with Hyperloop One has the potential to transform the movement of both people and freight," said Mike Burke, AECOM's chairman and CEO. "Our expertise working with cities, building port infrastructure and delivering highly challenging transit projects provides the depth of knowledge essential for safely and effectively developing and maximizing a new mode of transportation."

Art Vandelay! HAHA.
But seriously, Bjarke is drinking a lot of Silicon Valley Kool-Aid these days. I love Buckminster Fuller too!
When is he going to move to San Francisco and start an office here - theres lots of architechies that would love to work there
"Traditionally, the work of an architect is to design buildings...." OH SHIT WHADDUP! Architecture DISRUPTOR!
Who else designed train stations, hmm, let me see... Many many architects! Bjarkipedia will download some more past designs (let me guess, Calatrava this time) and pass it off as DISRUPTION. Maybe tech and the media in general need a better guide to architecture. Though it's not like anybody at the tech conferences can call B.S. On it.
I don't design buildings, I download from wikipedia
