Zaha Hadid joins the ranks of RIBA Gold Medalists: “We will continue this progress”
Zaha Hadid proudly wears the 2016 RIBA Royal Gold Medal that she was formally presented with last week. So far, Zaha is the only female architect to win the prestigious achievement medal on her own accord.
Escobedo Soliz Studio wins the 2016 MoMA PS1 Young Architects Program
MoMA PS1 is already prepping for the summer season. Last week, they revealed the colorful "Weaving the Courtyard" by Mexico City-based practice Escobedo Soliz Studio as the winning design for the 2016 YAP installation.
MIT wins top design award for first phase of SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition
Students teams from around the world took up the challenge of designing a sub-scale prototype pod for the Hyperloop. MIT scored the best overall award for the first round, and will test their proposal (which won't have any passengers) on a track near the SpaceX HQ in Hawthorne, California later this year.
Eight new Emerging Voices announced for 2016

Established in 1982, the Emerging Voices program helped propel the careers of over 250 architects — many whose names are well known today. The Architectural League of New York's prestigious portfolio competition revealed eight winning firms for the 2016 cycle.

The AIA New York Chapter’s New Practices Committee announced a fresh set of six architecture firms for the fiercely competitive 2016 New Practices New York portfolio contest. Qualified firms had to be founded no earlier than 2004 and be based in any of NYC's five boroughs.
A closer look at the “Re-Source” bio-fuel sea port, a Jacques Rougerie Foundation competition winner
The fifth edition of the popular competition concluded with three top prizes in each category. The Innovation and Architecture for the Sea award went to the project "Re-Source" by HOLISME, a team that comprises of French masters of architecture students Robin Vairé, Yorick Isnard, and Paul Morini.
