stpmj is an idea-driven design practice based in New York and Seoul. The office is found by Seung Teak Lee and Mi Jung Lim with the belief that our work explores a new perspective built from careful observations of material, structure and program expanding to the social, cultural, environmental, and economic phenomena of our time.
stpmj aims for provocative realism. We design iconic architecture that stands out, not apart; that is visionary, not fantastical. Continually embracing new parameters we provide distinct solutions at various ranges from architecture to urban strategies, from tangible realities to utopian ideas with unforeseen manners.
stpmj has received numerous awards & prizes, including Korean Young Architects Award (2016), AIA New Practice New York (2016), Young Architects + Designers Prize by Architectural League of New York (2012),
Centennial River Boat Pavilion Competition (Louisville, KY 2014), Little Free Library: New Idea City of New York (2013), Life at the Speed of Rail Design Competition (Van Alen Institute, NY 2011)
and has been shortlisted in Wynwood Gate Way Park Design Competition (Miami, FL 2014), Folly Design Competition (NY 2014), 10th China Creative Garden Expo (Wuhan 2014) and Five Principals of OFFICE US at Venice Biennale 2014. The work has been widely featured in international publications and exhibited in Storefront for Art and Architecture, Parsons The New School for Design, Center Gallery at Fordham University, UJA Federation, Sherman Campus, Van Alen Institute New York, John David Mooney Foundation Hall and Dallas Center for Architecture.
