Miller’s Court in Baltimore wins top prize in 2015 Rudy Bruner Award
After the five finalist projects were announced this past February, the 2015 selection committee selected Miller's Court in Baltimore to win the $50,000 top prize of the prestigious 2015 Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence.
SpaceX sets up Hyperloop Pod Competition for students and engineers
Been tracking down Elon Musk's Hyperloop? Students and engineers now have the chance to contribute to the ongoing development in SpaceX's design-build Hyperloop Pod Competition. Full criteria will be revealed in August. SpaceX is currently accepting Intent to Compete forms until Sept. 15, 2015 at 5 p.m. PDT.
Eco-case study on Vietnam’s A Luoi Valley wins 2015 Norden Fund travel-study grant
Ylan Vo -- a Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture student at Washington University in St. Louis -- scooped up the 2015 Norden Fund grant for her case study project that will examine the post-war landscape of Vietnam's A Luoi Valley.
“Valley-Park Todoroki” wins 2015 Archiprix Portugal award
Ana Filipa de Jesus Paisano from the University of Lisbon won the 4000€ prize for her project, "Valley-Park Todoroki - Interpretation Centre" in the 2015 Archiprix Portugal Award, which distinguishes top architectural and urbanism graduation projects among students attending Portuguese universities.
37 UK projects win in 2015 RIBA National Award
RIBA announced 37 of the United Kingdom's best new buildings for the 2015 National Award. At a time when high-quality housing and school buildings are lacking throughout the UK, new housing developments and educational facilities came to the forefront in this year's National winning batch. RIBA announces longlist for 2015 Manser Medal
RIBA was chock-full with announcements last week. In addition to the National Award winners, the organization revealed 20 projects longlisted for the honorary 2015 Manser Medal.
A closer look at Preliminary Research Office’s Bauhaus Museum Dessau entry
Check out Preliminary Research Office's stage-one entry, titled "Bulging Wall(s)", for the Foundation Bauhaus Dessau and the City of Dessau-Roßlau's Bauhaus Museum Dessau open competition. The team includes Yaohua Wang, Dingliang Yang, Tianci Han, Shouquan Sun, and Yitao Wang.

Spain is one country that has experienced an upsurge of locally based architects landing commissions abroad. Architect-US organized a panel discussion this Thursday that will bring together some of today's leading architects including Peter Cook as contributor, Andrés Jaque, and Nieto Sobejano Architects to discuss this emerging model of international practice and global dialogue in architecture.
