Private Residence - Expansion
OBJECTIVES
- Complete aesthetic reimagining and consolidation of the existing house which had accumulated a “hodge-podge” of styles while growing incrementally over many years.
- Reorganize the interior spaces and streamline the circulation which had become convoluted and inefficient over time.
- The design re-conceives the exterior and interior of the house in a sleek, contemporary style, replacing all finishes inside and out.
- All exterior windows and doors are replaced and increased in size and number. The expanded glazing affords the main spaces (living and dining rooms) with dramatic views to the landscape.
- The structure of the central rooms are reworked to create a taller, flowing space that combined the living room and front foyer.
- The new enlarged foyer provides smoother, more efficient access to the two private wings.
- The Master Bedroom wing is reorganized into a suite, with a new Master Bedroom added extending into the landscape.
