Electrical Codes for Retail Space in CA

minotto Disegno

Hi,

I'm going to be involved in a renovation of a commercial building for retail space in CA.  My background is residential in NJ so i'm not familiar with the electrical codes for commercial buildings, or any codes in CA.

The city requires some basic electrical indications on the plans:

Placement of lights, switches for the lights, outlets and the breaker panel.

Where would i find the information for this (i.e. spacing of outlets, height from the floor for outlets and switches, etc....)?

Thanks.

Is this a joke...

If not ... see continuing education thread... or hire an electrical engineer

1: ask the city

2: see the NEC, building code, accessibility codes.

3: hire an elec engineer if its too complex.
