I was holz, unfortunately my recent layoff from the firm means I won't be as involved in the project as I'd like to be during construction. The job is stalled at the moment do to a dispute with a contractor, but once things get going again I'm going to try and work something out with my old firm and/or client so I can be on site.
Someone else can post if they want, I'm about to take off for the eve.
phuyake...i left an office while one of my designs was being constructed...i kept driving by the project while it was being constructed, and was increasingly frustrated by the lack of control and direction on the solutions (again, the designer was no longer there to address them) - i really hope you can work something out with the firm, even if it is at a pro-bono (the project's own good in this case) design consultation role...
that was quick..i guess that's what happens when the name of the building is spelled out on the facade (Livraria da Vila, that is)
i actually wanted to post "Casa Branca" by Isay Weinfeld but could find no pictures online...( http://www.isayweinfeld.com/site/ under Residential )
Holz...is your "campus" in "Deutschland" or is that a misleading clue???
found it. took a bit of searching, German fair/pavilion mostly gave results for Hanover (MVRDV) and Shanghai (the horror).
but it's Deutscher Pavillon, Weltausstellung Brüssel 1958 by
Egon Eiermann and Sep Ruf
the perspective inside the corridor gave it away.
yeah, the eiermann/rup pavilion seems pretty nice/minimal. i keep forgetting about this project, but was reading an eiermann monograph last night and was (re)floored by the pavilion.
the white chairs in the third pic are eiermann's rattan chair
I cheated again though. There's a sign in the photo that is __NGLETOWN. I wildcard searched for that which lead me to singletown which lead me to DROOG which lead me to venice biennale which lead me to a map of the exhibits which lead me to another website.
Name that Architect and Building!!!
Damn, phu. Looks really interesting. Are you rocking the CA on this?
Phu, you're up... you got two out of three!
Just to clear things up, the house is by Makoto Nakayama located in Hanazono, Hokkaido.

just to keep it moving, a community center i am really digging...
phu,
sorry to hear you were laid off (again)
bump
it's a gemeindezentrum
ha! found it!
GEMEINDEZENTRUM AN DER PHILIPP-NICOLAI-KIRCHE
by Bathe+Reber
next one: (don't cheat by looking at image properties - it's easy enough)
isay weinfeld, Livraria da Vila
the apparent lightness of this one really turns me on. the exterior galleries became a leitmotif of his later work.
pretty stunning for a pre-1960s, non-mies building.

here it goes, staying close.
hey, this one is in belgium, as well!

those awnings are killing me...ouch...
the office is 1 out of 100...
ballet school by jan de wylder architects (it was on the front page of bldg blog).
Sorry,
but I was first! and btw it's de Vylder
fair enough - credit where credit's due! i like the way the stair slices up behind the glass.
mine was in the venice biennale.
I've seen this recently somewhere...
Digestible Gulf Stream
Philippe Rahm
You should have posted the photo with the naked people on it.

Yes,
Thats right. I have the original monograph on Decosterd & Rahm - it has a glow in the dark cover. Very nice.
yes, philippe rahm, digestible gulfstream (and i thought i'd better keep the pictures SFW!)
some more pics on my blog here. (plug, plug)
and orochi mate that's not cheating, just Law and Order style detective-work.
interesting... play on superstudio?
agfa8x - of course! I saw it in your blog first... well done by the way, very nice.
orochi is up...maybe we could see some more 60's high design!?
thanks db - i'm all about driving blog traffic right now!
ok, i'll go again:
agfa, too easy!
this basilica is friggin old, and has some awesome buttesses.
San Vitale, Ravenna
agfa I was about to say it was the millennium falcon [insert chewbacca call]
orochi - no idea, looks like a restaurant. With an odd cantilever, landscape looks Welsh or Irish
Malaysian.
And the building is brand new!
It throws me off too. The tree isn't even a giveaway either.
millenium falcon - no that's otto wagner's design for a viennese bank:
BOH Visitors Centre by Zlg Design
yup!
Oddly beautiful isn't it?
hint? looks US? i like the fence
Foster's most influential building design?
It does bear a striking resemblance to Foster's Willis Faber building. However this located in the southern hemisphere for a bunch of accountants
bump
it's in Australia... any takers??
McLean Delmo
