ha, I've been to the J&Rs that's in the ground floor of this place. Had to do some google mapping, but it's the park row building by Robert Henderson Robertson. Here's a slideshow of some of his other projects in nyc, via nytimes. Will post in a few.
the first series of images is the building in question (a house, by the way phuyake') - the second post has an image of the school in sao paulo (as holz.box pointed out), also by the architect in question, as a hint...

Thirst Pavilion
Expo Saragozza, Spagna 2007, Collezione: cloud 9, Courtesy: Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia taken from the Venice Biennale Review 2008 here on archinect. It sprays salt water on the cushions and when the water evaporates it leaves traces of the salt as a kind of shading.
holz I've found the building, but for the life of my can't find the architect. I know it's a viewing platform for the Roman Ruins in Rankweil - Brederis, but for some reason can't track down who did it.
Name that Architect and Building!!!
which is very close to alsace!
kinda close, yes.
that was faster than i thought it would be.
no cheating... but the name on the building is a dead giveaway!
other hint: it no longer exists!
wait no... it hasn't been demolished yet!
gotta be NY...trying to recognize the location, but can't do it...
...and, i don't see the name on the building...

next, some of the pictures are sort of crappy, not to many online:
this is in Austria I'm almost 100% certain
you're 100% right. in the Vienna outskirts
to keep this on the front page, it's a school, and the architect is known for his hi-tech, highly engineered buildings.
think scale to measure earthquakes...
ha holz with another good clue. his first name also phonetically offers head protection.
Condom Seismometer? What!?
fine...Kinkplatz School, Vienna
oh yeah...by Helm"e"t Richter
probably the biggest, and lesser known brazilian brutalist giant...
*bump* hope i didn't kill the thread...a more known building of his below:
USP-FAU
well, that looks like the a-school in sao paulo, previously discussed on here...
didn't kill it, i just had no idea. Having a tough time figuring out the program, is it all open air?

ah so then it's Vilanova Artigas.
to keep this going... probably a softball for some but i love this cantilever:
Trumph Campus Gatehouse
Barkow Leibinger Architects...
I will pass my turn onto whoever is quick on the draw...
any takers?
i'm interested to see if anyone actually knows this one.
project is kinda similar to one i worked on before the economy tanked, so i was pretty floored when i saw this...
Yes,
Hans Verstuyft
Home and Office
s'Gravenwezel
1998/2000
Love the Hans
that's not renzo's CAS before the green is it?
Negative - less piano, more flamenco
Last name sort of rhymes with jelly...
Nice former desk view, AP!

Yes, with Enric Ruiz Geli...
Go ahead.
Crap, can't think of any project to post...step in if you have something.
kerez @ leutschenbach?
Yes - completed recently, no?
Go ahead.
yes, i wasn't even aware it was under construction yet. i am really liking kerez's work these days...
next?
hint: it's in austria...

shopping ___
rhymes with cart...
Mart?
Ah,
Marte Marte Architekten
Nice stuff - I'd forgotten about these guys.
yeah dia! i got the marte.marte book a few weeks ago. it's dreamy.
i need to head to AT to check out their rammed earth projects.
damn! i can't believe I didn't get that, I have the book too, and it's definitely in that back section of projects in progress. Nice to see it built.
And their monograph is amazing; more of an object then a book and a great representation of their work.
