No, Those are slash pines or sand pines... and there's only a dozen places in the world where they grow.
It's either that or lodgepole pines... but that means this project would have to be 5,000 feet above the ground and in a high wind zone for lodgepoles to grow like that.
It's stumping me hardcore... I did find the original advertisement for this house though!
I'm actually going to guess Peter Behrens - the heavy recess of the windows in the lower image has much of his design cues as does the balustrade... it's still a bit crafty. And to throw out a random country I'll say it's in Poland
Very Bauhaus aesthetic, so I'd say the influence is definitely there, but I don't think this architect was involved with the school at all. The house is in Berlin, where he practiced until 1933 when he had to flee the country to Palestine.
Here's a couple of his other projects and a chair:
There's a great survey done by Pentagram Papers of Jewish architects working in Germany before the war. Some impressive (and forgotten) work. You're up techno.
Hi guys, no this thread can't die...I guess we have all been very busy but we have to keep posting items.
So architechnophilia that the Narkomfin (or the Ginzburg) building by Moisei Ginzburg built between 1928 and 1932.
I will start thinking of another post to send too
Name that Architect and Building!!!
. . .and that makes me think of Le Corbu; could it be his beloved Voisin ?

Is it Wilhelm Haller?
Harry Rosenthal, Arnold Zweig Residence, Berlin 1929-30
got it!

*cough*...bump...*cough*
techno...is it in australia?
i love this game!
no idea
... bumb ...
still no idea
this is what happens when you stump everyone... now I can't even remember because it's been so long
time for a hint...country?! another building by the same architect?!
okay since I'm completely lame and can't remember neither the architect or location let's go to another one.
and I'll make it real easy too
ha, i was just thinking the same thing the other day.
hah hah I think I've officially killed this thread.
my last building was the Fondation Maeght by architect Josef Lluis Sert

In the meantime I'll drop one
I found the picture...but still no architect. By the size I guess it must be a public building...
any tips?
yea it's a public building located in China
hint #2; and now I'm sure holz is going to get it.
Although built from steel and concrete the green roof gives the building an eco credibility on par with the other works by this Japanese architect
to me, that would mean shuhei endo or shigeru ban... but i don't think either of those are correct
any more images?! i don't know why, but the structure beyond the curtain-wall makes me think this is a parking deck...
Holz you are indeed correct, it's a Community Center in Kun Ming by Shigeru Ban. Holz you are up to the plate
wow...never would've thought of shigeru ban,,,
damn. ok, this one is not irish. yet another 'europan' winning spinoff...
Victorian home with Scottish trim so I'd guess England/Scotland. The transition from in/out looks like a Pawson detail but less refined.
england is correct, not as refined as pawson, but i kinda dig it.
Is it Wilson & Bell by chance? I don't see it on their website - but they don't much of their work there anyway
no, but it is a recent RIBA winner. architect's last name sounds cold war-sy...
is it allies & morrison?
nope. think gorby.
private house, richmond
david mikhail architects
this one might be too easy... it is next to a relatively well know newer building...
oui.
looks like breuer invited to do couple of details on a revised aalto design.
nice angle,
the architects of the neighbouring building sure took a good look when they designed this proposal for Lleida:
it's got a Zollverein-ey feel, though i'm pretty sure it's not. function?
here's another view... you can see something sticking up back in the background that might help clue you in...
it is an auditorium building on a western european university that will eventually have a new architecture building...
i'm also going to be writing my dissertation on the architect...
oops... forgot to resize it...
new architecture building
tu delft? i gotta run... someone else knock it down!
Van den Broek en Bakema, Student Center, TUDelft
you got the campus right... i'll put this one out of its misery...
AULA at TU Delft by van den Broek and Bakema...
here's another one by one of Jaap Bakema's good friends...
oops... crossposted with AP...
no problem Phil...
Aldo van Eyck sculpture pavilion (reconstructed - originally designed for the 1966 sculpture exhibition at Park Sonsbeek, Arnhem)
(found by searching "team 10 sculpture pavilion" following the "friend" of Bakema clue)...
