This is called the N-House that is sited in Kumamoto. I believe it was first published in a 1992 issue of Japan Architect. For western print it can be found in Olivier Meystre's Pictures of the Floating Microcosm.
Thanks for trying Danlazop. It is a fake town camouflage thrown on the Boeing factory in WW2 thinking that enemy aircraft wouldn't bomb a residential area
.
guess the plan [building]
this is one that I’ve been thinking about lately
Siza?
Not quite, but they both really like white!
Member of The New York Five / The Whites?
HAHAHAHAHA that's p funny
I can picture Meier for some reason? Is it a Richard Meier piece?
No it’s not by one of the New York Five
All that glass could be a Niemeyer house?
Not quite! The architect is still alive.
we could get this thing moving if you give us a clue
Ah yes the architect was mentioned in the discussion of the previous challenge
If mentioned by association.. Ito?
the scale is just a hard one here.
SANAA?
yep
for the love of dog, I can't find this plan anywhere
just to push it along further it's one of the early Sejima houses.
so I tried cheating, reverse look-up and 100% nothing...so this is a good one, but I must disqualify myself for now...
Well I went through a Sanaa monograph titled ‘houses’ and searched every project listed on Sanaa and Sejimas page; still no dice.
hmmm giving more hint, it's a house from the 90s' in a city on Kyushu island.
oooh also a crucial point is that it's not realized.
My apologies if this has been posted already: https://atlasofplans.herokuapp.com/play
ENJOY
thank you so much for this i've been playing this for the past 3 hours now.
cool game and any more hints on your plan atsu_axo?
It’s an unbuilt plan by Sejima on Kyushu island.
so did you win? are you up then?
No clue which building it is, I gave up already.
Ok ok here's a new one!
you do have to tell us about the impossible one, that's part of the education here!
Or at least the source where you found it, publication or site whatever...this is torture

just bumping this thread
somewhere in a shipping area, man made land?
it is in a port city
i will say top portion of the plan is facing the road and bottom portion is facing water
that helps, I had it backwards
Long Museum?
You got it!
love the structure of this building.
You're up poop876!
Sejima's House in a Plum Grove?
Yup.
Jan Kaplický & David Nixon...Weekend retreat for Miss B
Did you find it in @areasvellas on IG? Anyway, good job, that was pretty quick. Your turn, sir.

Try this one.
i want to say maison bordeaux, but it doesn't have that funky ramp
Think Seattle and Oregon with angled heavy timber set into natural boulders. Also Bill Gates.
Oregon Coast Beach House by Cutler Anderson Architects
outstanding project, great pick.
Now, what is the Bill Gates connection?
James Cutler - the architect of the above project - designed Bill Gates guest house. It's just called the 'Guest House' on the firm's website.
That's a very richly textured building. Wouldn't have expected it from BG. Wasn't aware of it, thanks.
Ok wonder how long this one will take.

This one is tough. I can't figure it out. I even went to google for an image search hint - nothin'.
I thought it was a EOM house but I've ran through a few options and came up empty
Hints: it's unbuilt. In japan by non-japanese architect.
Non much of a hint. ;)
ok, ok.
It's a duo, one of them is australian. Prominent in the 90's, did a bunch of work in Rotterdam.
Think Tom Hanks' best friend in Cast Away
.
I think it's Peter Wilson and Julia Bolle-Willson but I can't find the design . . .
Bolles - Wilson. Somehow this 2d reminds me of the 3d of eglise saint pierre plan.....
@chad, Cosmos Commercial Building.
yep. there is a great article about the building and its drawings in Drawing Matter: https://drawingmatter.org/cosmos-street-revisited/
cool stuff
the graphics remind me a bit of archigram
your turn @pandahut
sorry for barging in.
Levittown?
Thanks for trying Danlazop. It is a fake town camouflage thrown on the Boeing factory in WW2 thinking that enemy aircraft wouldn't bomb a residential area .
Holy crap! is that a tarp???
Oop sorry forgot the rules. One of my favorite buildings and probably not hard to guess...looks like it will not allow me to add a photo :(
