The Polinsky Children’s Center is a 97,875 SF foster youth facility
that accommodates children from infants to teens. They are housed
in “Cottages” which look like large homes, with a open common area
and private bedrooms. Our scope was to modernize the whole facility
with new interiors and electrify the site to minimize its carbon footprint.
Total construction cost was $4,422,000. My role on the project was
project architect and LEED accredited professional. The interiors
finishes needed to be durable to withstand the constant use by
children, and comforting to enhance the experience of the residents.
