The collection of 5 relocated Victorian homes were chosen by the county of San Diego to be adapted into a boutique hotel. This $13.3 million dollar project began as a feasibility study, where we conducted market research and test fits.
After finding the hotel a viable idea, we conducted a point cloud scan to build an accurate as-built BIM model of all the homes.
This project was full BIM from inception. I managed the office BIM cloud for seamless collaboration with our sub-consultants.
In my role as project manager, we were able to develop a concept that integrated the historic nature of the homes into modern amenities that guests expect from a boutique hotel.
Schematic Designs were then presented to the public for comment. I took these comments and created literature for the county summarizing our findings, and how we would incorporate those changes in further development.
