H2L2 (Competition) Luxembourg, International School of Luxembourg

Competition at H2L2 Architects. The building consisted of primary school, kindergaten, gymnasium theater and dining areas. Programmatic space needs were met in a three story building which then allowed the  green hillside to be draped across the building for environmental and recreational reasons.  The scheme was supposed to restore the site to the natural beauty it once had.Functionally the core of the building is the“main street” corridor as a convenient and efficient access to all school functions.  Classrooms and other spaces demanding windows are organized along the south side of the corridor while public areas and other functions not requiring windows are located along the north side.  As result, play space is located atop the building, so as to achieve the highest and best use of all available land.
