    second quarter... going strong

    A Center for Ants? Jan 18 '07 3

first late night of the year last night as we worked towards getting our model and diagrams done. this quarter is the second quarter of the M.arch I program and is part 2 of 5 of the "core studios". the focus this quarter is on "structures" so we've been executing a case study in groups.

we've been looking at sejima's small house (or casa pequeno by el croquis). very interesting 1100+ sf house. amazing how thin EVERYTHING is in the house.

presented our diagrams and model (which came out quite nicely) and doing a little more analysis and discussion for friday's studio. no disasters either!

pics forthcoming... they're in the decafe so there's not a lot of light to photograph them well.

with the word thin - made me think if we made all of our houses so small in america do you think we could overcome obesity ? architecture + society = ???
