    (Kent State University)

A short re-cap (or using what free time I have to slightly update the blog).

We had our first CAED all-school meeting wednesday, which was an exciting introduction and welcoming back for all the students. Dean Fong, our year old dean from University of Toronto, lectured on the future of Kent and Cleveland's Urban Design Collaborative. His words are very inspirational and uplifting when it comes to thinking of the future of this school and our own personal futures. Under his new leadership many things are going to change for the better.. talks of several digital fabrication labs got me excited.

I had to give an impromtu speach in front of the whole school as well, representing t r a c e, the school's fairly new architectural publication. After most of the staff from last year left, it fell into the hands of the only 2 lowerclassmen left. However this year we're looking to completely re-invent it, a change that should have a great impact on the growing school. Stay tuned for more on that.. there may even be an online version for all you archinecters out there who would like to read it.

Hmm.. I think soon I'll post my projects from last year.. I'd like to hear outside perspectives on my work.

..and oh! Our first project was turned into a competition to get us back into the swing of things. The best project wins the required books for the semester.. and I won! woo. Very exciting, I guess Stroh said some very good things about it although I did not personally hear it.

That's a cool contest idea! Wish we'd had that back in the day. Post pics?
