PROJECT NARRATIVE: Ryder Design worked closely with the client to develop a contemporary and bespoke design for the remodel of an existing single-family home. Regular meetings and updates allowed the client to understand the design decisions being made along the way in their interest. The home, which is cut into the adjacent hillside, features 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a large, private, outdoor courtyard living area complete with a pool. The design employs many architectural responses to the clients interests and lifestyle including special accommodation for well ventilated cigar smoking parlor.
