BONNARD CONDOMINIUM

THE CHALENGE OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO COMBINE DIFFERENT SIZE UNITS IN THE SAME PROGRAM, WHICH I APPROACHED BY PROPOSING TWO TOWERS INSTEAD OF ONE. THIS WOULD ALLOW MORE FACADE AREA TO BE OFFERED TO THE APARTMENTS.

THE SMALLER UNITS ARE LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TOWER, WHILE THE 3 BEDROOM APARTMENTS ARE TOWARDS BOTH ENDS, HAVING THE BIGGEST UNITS IN THE MAIN FACADE TOWARDS THE MAIN STREET.

THE LEISURE AREA OF THE BUILDING IS LOCATED ON THE THIRD FLOOR, INSTEAD OF THE GROUND LEVEL, WHICH ALLOWED TO MINIMIZE EXCESSIVE EARTHMOVING AND ALSO PROVIDED A BETTER VIEW TO FIRST FLOORS APARTMENTS.

THE BUILDING HAS A SIMPLE AND CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURAL LANGUAGE, WHICH USES STRAIGHT ANGLES AND NATURAL MATERIALS, SUCH AS STONE AND LOTS OF GREEN AREAS. THIS HELPS TO BREAK THE SOLIDITY AND RIGIDITY WITHIN A CONSOLIDATED URBAN LANDSCAPE.
