The Earle Hall Addition feasibility study is a 54,700 square foot project program that expands and fuses the facilities for chemical engineering and material science programs. The concept explores a building that breaks into three diagrammatic parts, establishing an identity for each: the existing building, the neutral connector, and the instructional bar fronting Williamson Drive. The design responds to the site’s steep grade change and respects the scale of existing structures along Palmetto Boulevard and Earle Hall. By incorporating state-of-the-art facilities and building technologies this design study meets the sustainable initiatives of the university and reflects the character of the “high ground” precinct on Clemson’s campus.
