The Boyd Plaza, located in the heart of downtown and adjacent to the Columbia Museum of Art, will undergo a complete renovation to create a more open, urban-park-like amenity for the community. Continuing the energy of the Main Street redevelopment, the renovated plaza will be pedestrian-friendly and include a grove of mature hardwood trees, seat walls defining new planted areas, and a new fountain base for the existing Keenan sculpture. Two pavilion structures will also be incorporated to provide shaded areas for seating and events, as well as spill-out space for the Museum. The existing sculptures throughout the plaza will be carefully relocated within the plaza to enhance the new design.
