Sacramento Intermodal Transit Facility, Phase 1 - Track Relocation

As the Responsible Architect at TranSystwems Corp., Gregory led all design and production services including coordination for this first phase of a multi-phased redevelopment project involving the (E) Southern Pacific Depot built in 1925 adjacent to the historic Central Pacific Yards and Shops built in the late 1800’s. In partnership with a Private Developer, the City commissioned TranSystems to design and implement this phase including: relocation of tracks & platforms +/-400 feet north to a new Right-of-Way & alignment conceptually designed by Union Pacific Railroad. New platforms required grade-separated passenger access through a tunnel under the railroad. The project scope includes: 2 new passenger platforms with canopies & amenities, a passenger access tunnel, an At-Grade covered walkway to the new passenger tunnel from the (E) Depot, a service vehicle tunnel, and a potion of a new pedestrian / bicycle tunnel intended to provide a connection from Old Sacramento on the south to the planned Railyards Development on the north. Gregory was in charge of all design efforts regarding architecture and aesthetics.
