As the Managing Architect at SBA Archiects, Gregory led all design and production services including coordination for this award winnng signature station access bridge, built as part of the Santa Clara Valley Tranportation Authority's (VTA) Vasona Light Rail Corridor Extension. This signature overcrossing used a combination of funds provided by VTA and the City of Campbell. While working in collaboration with the structural engineer and Landscape Architect, the design challenge was to provide the City of Campbell with a signature, "State-of-The-Art" “Transit Gateway” at their first station on the border with San Jose. This V-leg bow arch suspension bridge and prism elevator provided the “State-of-the-Art” signature aesthetics sought by the City as well as the functionality required to meet VTA station and maintenance needs. The strict clearance and construction impact requirements were maintained by using a thin slab floor on the suspension structure.
