Project Brief: 

A 60 SF, Public Kitchen/ Woodwork, Tainan, Taiwan

The pentagonal wooden kitchen was designed by Architect Chen Yung-Hsing and has made a lasting impact on the local community. As an architect, Chen has dedicated himself to giving back through his summer design studios and has previously built several public facilities on the site, including a library, toilet, and gallery. I was very fortunate to participate in the construction of this small
kitchen. Several years after the kitchen was completed, Architect Chen told me that the site had become a popular gathering place for local residents to hold picnics and parties.
