The 2016 RIBA Awards competition continues! A few weeks after the London Award announcements, the Institute just revealed 46 buildings as National Award winners. The RIBA National Awards celebrate the UK's most outstanding buildings, while offering insight into construction, design, and investment trends in the country. Los Angeles is in for a lot of (proposed) change, especially in its downtown core. Yesterday, the City of L.A. announced Mia Lehrer + Associates and OMA as the winners of a competition to design a new public park called the FAB Park...Proposed for the well-trafficked streets of First and Broadway in downtown L.A., the 1.96-acre FAB Park will integrate “the themes of food, art, and land.” — Bustler

The Office for Metropolitan Architecture...has been chosen to design the Albright-Knox Art Gallery’s first major expansion in more than 50 years...The comparatively delicate and more budget-conscious Albright-Knox expansion project, which is expected to cost about $60 million, will unfold on a small but famous plot of public parkland and will be attempt to fuse the architectural styles of three centuries. — The Buffalo News
