In land-scarce Singapore greenery too is going sky-ward, with a 24-storey condominium earning a Guinness record for boasting the world’s largest vertical garden.
Tree House condominium, completed in 2013 by property firm City Developments Limited, has covered its façade in nearly 2,300 square meters of greenery. [...]
The condo uses the plants as natural insulation to help filter pollution, absorb heat and reduce the amount of energy needed to cool individual units.

UNStudio recently announced the completion of the Ardmore Residence tower in Singapore City. SAA Architects from Singapore and UK-based Benoy unveiled the design concept for the Changi Airport Terminal 4 during the T4 groundbreaking ceremony on Nov. 5. SAA won the commission from the Changi Airport Group back in mid-February 2013. — bustler.net

Cooled Conservatories, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore by London-based Wilkinson Eyre Architects is the winner of the 2013 RIBA Lubetkin Prize for the best new international building. This is the second year running for Wilkinson Eyre, who also won the prize last year for Guangzhou International Finance Center in China. — bustler.net

Singapore now has its first commercial vertical farm, which means more local options for vegetables.
The technique uses aluminium towers that are as tall as nine metres, and vegetables are grown in troughs at multiple levels.
The technique utilises space better -- an advantage for land-scarce Singapore.

The Singapore Subordinate Courts have announced the winning design for a new courts complex after an open competition process that started in September last year. The design, by London-based Serie Architects in collaboration with local Singaporean firm Multiply Architects, includes two new towers and the renovation of the existing Octagon courts building. Serie and Multiply will work with CPG Consultants Pte Ltd to implement the design. — bustler.net

The tower will be the first development under the Far East Organisation’s new SOHO brand. Designed to conserve space whilst maximizing live/work/play areas, The Scotts Tower promises to present a new dimension of functional and flexible vertical space.

The massive, slow moving Sandcrawlers from George Lucas' Star Wars films inspired the form of his new regional headquarters in Singapore. An incredible crop of solar-powered "Supertrees" is rising at Singapore's Gardens By The Bay, a 101-acre garden site that will support 226,000 plants and flowers from all over the world. Designed by Grant Associates, the gardens' 18 Supertrees will serve as towering vertical gardens that collect rainwater, generate solar power and act as venting ducts for the conservatories. — Inhabitat
