In order to avoid participation in architecture and urban design becoming merely a politically required token of democratic involvement - a kind of fake participation that does not actually engage the participants in any meaningful way - architects, planners, and designers need to commit themselves and relinquish control, as Jeremy Till claims in an interview with us entitled "Distributing Power".

Now in its 20th year, the RIBA Stirling Prize is regarded as the UK’s most prestigious architecture prize. Georgia Tech is launching a strategic repositioning of its College of Architecture, including a possible name change.
"The College of Architecture currently faces several reputational challenges as it seeks to implement its strategic plan that took effect in 2014," Tech said in a posting on its website on Tuesday. "Student enrollment levels in the undergraduate architecture program need significant improvement. [...] its research contributions show similar opportunities for improvement."
