The plan paves the way for 10 new mixed-use towers that will play host to approximately 20 million gross square feet of Class A commercial office, retail, hotel, and perhaps residential space. This is roughly double the amount of gross square footage currently allowed on the eight sites. A development team for 5 World Trade Center (5 WTC) has been selected by the Port Authority of NY and NJ. The board voted unanimously during their monthly public meeting to award the bid to Silverstein Properties, Brookfield Properties, Omni New York, and Dabar Development. The board also offered up a snapshot of the design, which comes from none other than Kohn Pedersen Fox. Even more perilous, the promised second phase of Hudson Yards — eight additional buildings, including a school, more luxury condos and office space — appears on indefinite hold as the developer, the Related Companies, seeks federal financing for a nearly 10-acre platform on which it will be built.
Related, which had said the entire project would be finished in 2024, no longer offers an estimated completion date.

Renderings have been released for a tower replacing Midtown’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, Donald Trump’s first major Manhattan development. The proposed project at 175 Park Avenue would rise up to 83 stories and 1,646 feet, making it NYC's second-tallest building.
