Two of the eight submissions they show are theme park proposals- do our presidents not have any form of legacy or honor through the eyes of architects? We elect a guy to be our president because we have a right to, and we want roller coasters running through his house? And a dome around the white house- as if it is not secure enough. I don't think any of these people know how to design houses- in fact most of them toss and fumble the house around, and are not really redesigning the "house".
I bet people think architects are crazy after seeing some of the winners- they have no rational thinking. The best one in my opinion is the submission in which the white house is mixed among other houses in DC. But even then, the idea of fragmenting and dispersing the house makes no sense. We can't even keep a fair and simple concept of a "house"; how is anyone ever going to hire an architect to build a house?
